Catavina Cave Painting and Dinner at Malarrimos Restaurant 11/12
On the 12th we drove to Catavina to the Cave drawings, climbed a short but very steep boulder path to go into and see cave paintings which have been carbon dated at 11,000 years ago. They were in good condition even though they have been unprotected for centuries. We climbed and crawled into this cave and then left through the opening you see. Jim and Judy celebrating below getting both up and down the mountain. The cave paintings were different from the petroglyphs we have seen in other places and well worth the hike.
Later that evening about half our group enjoyed margaritas and a very good meal at Malarrimo's which will soon be booming with Baja Racers. We saw them everywhere, fixing springs and tinkering with the engines. During and after the race, Malarrimo's is very popular.
